Supported installations
Our warranty and technical support cover installations that use Eternal Ice components, hoses, and fittings as supplied and described in this guide. Custom or modified setups — homemade hoses, non-Eternal Ice fittings, custom plumbing, or altered configurations — can introduce air intake, leaks, poor water circulation, reduced efficiency, or premature wear, and our technical team may not be able to fully diagnose or support them. If you're planning a custom setup, reach out before you build it and we'll help you do it safely. Outdoor outlets must be installed with the chiller's plug oriented so the cord exits the bottom and forms a drip loop below the outlet; damage caused by water entering an outlet because the plug was installed cord-up, or by forcing the plug or cord, is considered misuse and is not covered by warranty.

Step 3 Preparing the chiller
Placement: level with the bath or lower
Set the chiller on the ground beside the bath, at the same level as the tub or lower — never on a deck, shelf, or platform above it. The circulation pump is not self-priming: it relies on water reaching it by gravity. Placed higher than the bath, the pump has to lift water up the suction hose, loses its prime, and pulls in air instead of water — the same air intake behind most flow problems, and it can leave the pump running dry. Leave at least 30 cm (12 in) of clearance all around for ventilation; indoors, a ventilated room, never a closed enclosure.
✕ Avoid — chiller above the bathThe pump must lift water, loses prime, draws air ✓ Correct — same level or lowerWater reaches the pump by gravity and stays primed -
Step 4 Preparing threaded fittings and applying sealing tape

Step 5 Installing the drain valve assembly (if included)

Step 7 Filling the bath

Step 8 Powering the chiller
Plug orientation: drip loop
Plug the chiller into an outdoor outlet so the cord exits the bottom and hangs in a loop below the outlet. Rainwater follows the cord by gravity: a drip loop lets it fall off before the outlet instead of running inside, which prevents short circuits. Never force the plug or cord.
✕ Avoid — cord upRainwater runs into the outlet ✓ Correct — drip loopWater drips off the cord, away from the outlet -
Step 9 Purging air from the chiller filter housing

Step 10 Checking valves (if included)

Step 11 Starting the chiller
