Supported installations

Our warranty and technical support cover installations that use Eternal Ice components, hoses, and fittings as supplied and described in this guide. Custom or modified setups — homemade hoses, non-Eternal Ice fittings, custom plumbing, or altered configurations — can introduce air intake, leaks, poor water circulation, reduced efficiency, or premature wear, and our technical team may not be able to fully diagnose or support them. If you're planning a custom setup, reach out before you build it and we'll help you do it safely.

Preparing the environment

Before proceeding with installation, make sure the chosen location is stable, level, and capable of supporting the weight of the bath filled with water. The area should be clear to allow adequate air circulation around the chiller and to facilitate connections. Also, ensure that the electrical access is compliant, protected from moisture, and located at a safe distance from splashes.

Avoid installing the bath in direct sunlight, as the exterior surface can become very hot, even burningly so to the touch, in addition to reducing the system’s energy efficiency.

Finally, allow enough space to maneuver the bath and chiller during installation.

Installation steps

Step #1

Initial positioning of components


Before starting assembly, move the bath, chiller, and all required accessories close to their final location. This should be done by at least two people due to the weight and size of the equipment. This reduces the risk of injury and damage to the components.

Ensure the parts are placed on a stable and clean surface to prevent abrasion or deformation during handling.

Step #2

Pre-cleaning the bath


Before installation, carefully clean the interior of the bath using a non-abrasive cloth and mild soap. To access all surfaces more easily, it may help to gently lay the bath on its side.

During manufacturing and fitting of the connectors, there may be light plastic residues or temporary odors from the molding process. A thorough cleaning removes these traces and prepares the surface properly.

After cleaning, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water to remove all soap and residual particles. This ensures a clean bath ready for the next installation steps.

Step #3

Preparing the chiller


Carefully remove the chiller from its box and place it on a stable surface for easier handling. Install the provided wheels according to the included instructions.

The included information booklet may also provide guidance and additional details for this step.

Step #4

Preparing threaded fittings and applying sealing tape


Before installing the insulated hoses, first remove the plugs installed on the bath’s threaded fittings. Place them in a safe location to avoid losing them.

Next, check if the threaded fittings on the bath and chiller already have sealing tape.

If not, apply Teflon tape, wrapping firmly clockwise (in the direction of screwing) to ensure a proper seal and prevent leaks during operation.

Note: If you notice the threaded fittings are not fully tight, you can adjust them with a wrench. Do not overtighten, especially on the bath, as this could damage the plastic threads.

Step #5

Installing the valve block (if included)


If a valve block is included with your kit, install it on the lower threaded fitting of the bath.

Use a wrench to tighten the valve block while holding the threaded fitting in place with pliers to prevent it from turning or loosening during installation.

Ensure the assembly is securely fixed, but do not overtighten to preserve the integrity of the bath’s plastic threads.

Step #6

Installing the hoses

Install the insulated hoses between the bath and the chiller, ensuring the correct flow direction:

  • The lower bath hose must always connect to the INLET of the chiller. Water is drawn from the bottom of the bath to the chiller.
  • The upper bath hose, used for the return flow, must connect to the OUTLET of the chiller. This hose returns the cooled water to the bath.

Ensure all connections are secure but not over-tightened to guarantee leak-free operation.

Step #7

Filling the bath


Fill the bath with clean water up to the desired level. Ensure the water level is sufficient for adequate circulation to the chiller once the system is running.

Step #8

Powering the chiller


Plug the chiller into a 120 V compliant electrical outlet protected from moisture. Refer to the chiller’s instruction booklet for detailed operating procedures, available settings, and startup instructions.

Step #9

Purging air from the chiller filter housing


Slightly loosen the filter housing to release trapped air.

Once water starts flowing, tighten the housing firmly to ensure a proper seal.

This step is essential to avoid airlocks in the circuit.

Step #10

Checking valves (if included)

Make sure that:

  • The drain valve at the bottom of the bath is closed.
  • The main valve is positioned to allow water circulation to the chiller.

These checks ensure safe startup and optimal water flow.

Step #11

Starting the chiller


Turn on the chiller to begin cooling the water. Monitor the first few minutes to confirm that circulation is stable and that no leaks are present.
